About Christian UC
(Unassisted Childbirth)

I'm so glad
you have found unassisted birth!
My name is Jeannie
Baker, and I live in Michigan with my husband Al and our two daughters
Alexis and Jasmine. Alexis was born in a hospital with an OB. The birth
was excellent by medical standards and in comparison to the trauma suffered
by so many other women at the hands of these professionals, but was
still incredibly lacking. So my journey to unassisted birth began.
While pregnant
I learned everything I could about birth. I learned everything I knew
from other unasssited birth sites, communities, and books recommended by the ladies there.
I am so grateful for them. But if you've been to these sites or read
some of these books already you've probably noticed the new-age overtones.
And while it is not my intention to speak negatively against them, it
sometimes got excruciatingly painful to try and have to sift through
a world-view that couldn't have been more opposite of my own to get
to some info that I could apply to myself. It is out of this frustration
that Christian Unassisted Childbirth (UC) is born.
Currently our
goals are outlined on the home page. With including other subjects such
as homeschooling and baby-wearing along with unassisted birth it is my hope that more women who
are dissatisfied with their own previous birth experience(s) will stumble
onto this site and find what they've known in their heart all along.
Pregnancy and birth are NOT medical events! Pregnancy and birth are
biological functions, and most miraculous in their simplicity.
Christian Unassisted Childbirth is always
looking for new information and fresh perspectives. If you'd like to
contribute an unassisted birth story or a relevant article, please E-Mail us for submission
info. We'd especially like to see words of wisdom regarding unassisted pregnancy, unassisted birth, breastfeeding,
family bed, elimination communication, vaccination, and other natural health issues.
