Eric and I were discussing our mutual need of getting back in shape this morning. I need some ideas for ways to fit exercise into my day.

If I have to carve out a block of time for it, I know it won't get done at all. Does anyone have any ideas? I have been doing pliés and lunges while I brush my teeth. Obviously, that isn't going to be enough of a workout.

T-TAPP!!!!!!!!!!!!

Seriously. Fourteen minutes at a time, a couple times a week, and you see results right away. It's the best workout EVER!

Three times a week for an hour I go workout at the YMCA while the baby naps and Dh does business/makes sure the other 3 don't burn the house down. ;) The other 2-3 days a week, (I rest on Sabbath), I do Walk Away the Pounds on Dvd and sometimes Pilates for Dummies. I have lost over 30 pounds since New Years and went from an almost size 24 to a size 14. (Since New Years!!!) I also weigh myself once a day and then weekly at TOPS.

now that i've finally stopped bleeding...i'm planning to try either pilates or tae bo for my morning exercise...my dh says he'll do it with me....but if he doesn't, he's gonna watch. LOL. then i'll start walking with my children too...and if it's too hot or rainy, i'll walk on my machine inside.

eventually, i'll start with the crunches again, but not yet.

Okay, Shannon, is there a cheap place to get these videos? I was looking online and they were pretty pricey. 14 minutes is very doable, though :) I don't want to lose weight, but I'd like to get in a little better shape. I walk around the property, but that isn't a challenge any more like it was when we first moved here.

Did you check on Ebay and half.com? That might be the best place to get them. Since I have bought mine though, I haven't bought another workout video, and did away with my gym membership. It's all I needed. So, in the 2 1/2 years I've had mine, it's saved me money. I wish I could get mine to copy so I could let you try it out. It's one of those things you have to try to know how great it is.

I will have to post some pics when I get closer to goal. Could anyone tell me how to get pics to post in my posts?I am still really self conscious about my weight but I am getting there..I am finally firmly under 200..and it is all downhill (hopefully, LOL) from here. :spudnikboogie: I havent tried t-tapp but I did hear about it on the momys email list and I checked it out online..hey, whatever works. :) Pilates is very successful..if you are consistant.. even 15 minutes a few times a week. Pilates can reduce cellulite some studies indicate because it targets areas that other exercises don't..t-tapp may work the same way.

Well, I am off.. my back is hurting me this week quite bad...having problems walking. I think that I twisted or did something .. ugh. My problem is that I have weak back muscles..and therefore weak abs too.. it is all tied in. One of my big goals besides weight loss is to strengthen my back and abs. Helps for healther pregnancies I have heard.

Well, later.

Edited to add link to snapfish album B) ...email me at jenni.shaver@gmail.com for an invite to view my pics

Thanks, Shannon. Ebay has some, they look to be pretty popular! Still around $30+. But I'm sure it's good. I just have a hard time spending money if I don't know for sure I'm actually going to use it, ya know?

Edit, I just found a place where you can download clips of the T-tap http://www.t-tapp.com/try/ :D

To get pictures in your post, use something like photobucket (photobucket.com) and they will put it up on the net for you, then you can link to it, or use the little tree icon here (when you're writing the message) to put the link in and it will show in the post :) It sounds complicated and it takes a little time, but it's not really that hard :)

It's supposed to. Honestly, I have never worried about my cellulite though, so I don't know if it's gotten worse or better or what. I just never really think about it. I guess where it is on me, I don't notice a lot, and the things I do notice are what I worry about.

either pilates or tae bo for my morning exercise...

DH just bought me some Tae Kardio classes at a local gym about a month ago. I have only lost 5-7 lb but its so much fun and I can feel my abs coming back. Its just like Tae Bo but you get to beat up a bag and wear the gloves, wraps, etc. I have another 12-15 lb to go for my goal. I want to start walking over my lunch hour as soon as the weather cooperates.

Fruitful4him, that is amazing! You go girl!

All I've done is Pilates and Yoga. My cellulite has melted away on my abdomen and my behind. I can't tell you how much weight I've lost, really, since I'm pregnant! I was 171 in August 2002 when I started Pilates, and wearing 16s. I'm now finding 8s to be a bit baggy, although 6s are a little snuggy. I'm 155 now, at 8 months pregnant. I was 153 three weeks after Belen was born.

My goal weight is 126.

I'm downloading one right now. With 7 kids in the house and no extra space, I really need something that I can do whenever I get a chance that will actually work!!! Thanks for posting that link. :)
If I can manage to lose 30 pounds, I'll be in much better health. My legs have been falling asleep when I sit with the baby for too long.

Have you seen the infantastic workouts with baby (five months along)? It is sooo cool. I just got my dvds from www.infantastic.com I am so excited. I thought I would pass it on to you. It is a fun way to spend time with baby and get a little fit.

God bless,
M :spudnikboogie:

I've been taking Janney and Asher for walks, Asher in the sling, Janney in the stroller or the sled. The extra weight is "weight bearing" while the walking is cardio. I've been walking 35-50 minutes.. sometimes the olders walk with me too

After Janney was born, I invested $500 into an eliptical machine.. second hand. I'd love a rowing machine, but it requires space I don't have.

I've got pilates too.. and yoga videos.. and belly dancing videos.

Exercise during nap times.. exercise when you're watching the news at night. wake early to exercise before they wake... it's all about sneaking a few minutes when you find them.

My husband and I have a friend who is a personal trainer/ black belt martial artist in several disciplines. I know that's so uncommon that it's not really worth mentioning. I only do because it's pretty amazing to know someone who is so gifted and knowledgeable in the physical arena (no pun intended...).

He came over just a few days ago and gave us a workout plan to begin with. I used to work out 5x/wk, until I was married and then 2 months later pg and exhausted! I love working out and I am astonished at how well my muscles seem to 'remember' what to do. I still feel a bit awkward, but it's coming along.

The way I can fit exercise in with two toddies and a 3mo old is with free weights. Our friend showed me how to use areas of our home to do my exercises, such as the kitchen counter at the sinks for support while doing upright push-ups. Our free weights are 1lb, 3lb, 5lb, and 10lb. I can walk around with them or remain stationary for a set. Our toddlers love to hold the 1lb weights and 'workout' too (actually, they prefer the 10lb weights, but I took those away for the downstairs neighbours' sakes).

Oh, and next week, we'll have skipping ropes; he's going to show us how professional athletes use the ropes for cardio workouts. I'm really looking forward to that.

Our 3 month old is very content to sit or lay on the floor and watch me. He thinks what I'm doing is really funny.

I've heard of women using their baby as the weight and exercising with him on their tummies, legs etc... even 'curling' the baby. I just laugh. Right now I'm using 8lb weights. I just weighed our three month old. He's 20 lbs--- our lightest at this age.

Have fun. I am. I'm also excited to see that so many of us are taking care of our bodies! Better for to make more babies!
