As I mentioned I still haven't gotten my period yet and my babe is 2 years old next week. He only nurses for naptime and bedtime. From what I have heard it is possible that I could get pregnant without a period, in fact I know of a few friends who have gotten pregnant before they their menstrual cycles returned, so never had a period. It does make sense how that can work. I would want to have a somewhat acurate EDD, I mean I don't want to find out I'm pregnant because I've noticed some movement or my belly is starting to get big and so it'd be hard to know how far along I am. Well, I could have an idea but it would be give or take a month, giving me a 2 month window for a possible EDD. Not that that is all that important but it would be nice to know. Anyway, all that to say, how often would you test in this case? Every month, every 2 weeks, more often, only if you start feeling possible early pregnancy symptoms? Just curious.

A friend of mine doesn't get AF back for around 10 mo pp she tests monthly to so she can have a pretty close EDD. I am a POSA ( pee on a stick aholic) LOL so I would be testing every 2 weeks probably. I get $ tree tests now so they are not too pricy. I get AF back 6-10 week pp so I still end up testing often unless I am charting my tempertures to know when I ovulate and when I am realy late becaues I tend to have long cycles.

Wow, and I thought twice a month would be alot! I've only ever tested when I suspected a pregnancy and usually I had known beforehand due to charting. I haven't been charting this time though. So, I think I'll buy a test and do this a couple of times a month until I conceive.

In my obsessive defense (*snicker*) I haven't had normal regular cycles for a long time due to breastfeeding...my body will have all the signs of ovulation several times before it actually does. After my 3rd pg my cycles returned scantily at 6m pp then not again but I got a + pg test at 6w pg 4m later...imagine how many tests I went through...lol I had tested 14 days past ovulation and 16 days but got - results...each time I thought I ovulated I'd test for a few days then give up. Dh told me I don't have to test any more for his sake because I've always been right predicting it. So the burden of having to know right away is gone and I am proud to say there isn't one pregnancy test in my house, I am reformed and my first pp cycle is upon me already. (ugg)

My Post-Breastfeeding cycles frustrate me.

My babe is weaned and my cycles seemed to get normal and last few have had me really thinking I'm pregnant. I started testing again, I used to just 'let things happen' but not I am wanting to 'know' as soon as possible.

I love the idea of a winter baby for a first for me.. and I definitely have the hormones back that I really would love another little blessing.
I was VERY late again this last cycle and tested twice. Once at a week late according to my charts for cycles since weaning.

Now I'm thinking that my cycles might be lengthening due to exercise. Maybe I will be cycling every 32 days or more. It's hard to say, but frustrating!
I was VERY excited that this was IS this last cycle and quite disappointed when AF started.

I'm now all out of those cheap tests I got for 75cents each.. guess i'm going to have to either just be patient, take temps again, or break down and look for her website to buy more tests! The last two require a bit more effort, so patience will be likely forced upon me..hee hee
