I can't begin to imagine all that you are going through. Praise God you and your dh are reaching out to your brother. It sounds like you are doing a great job. I do know of a ministry that helps troubled teens called Shepherd's Hill Farm. They might be able to give you advice in dealing with him. They are located in Georgia. The founder was a member of my sil's church until he answered the Lord's call to this ministry. I've heard him speak and receive his newsletter and pray for their ministry. Thier web site is http://www.shepherdshillfarm.org/. God Bless and I pray the HS will convict your brother's heart and draw him to a saving knowledge of Jesus.
I want to conceive NOW! I'm a little impatient, need some reassurance

jmommy, she is in Canada. I don't know if that makes any difference or not but thought I'd mention it.
J, I'm so glad to hear this. It sounds so positive. I will be praying for your brother and your family. I too had a brother who acted much like you describe your brother and he has straightened his life out including being married and having children and even holding down a job. All is well with him for the most part now. Maybe that is encouraging to you?

Yes and AMEN Joy.. what you are doing is VERY good.. and about your kids seeing the things he's doing, or hearing bad words.. remember, you have been there all their lives, you have the stronger influence. And they are seeing the love you're pouring into your brother.. and loving him in spite of his sinful ways, They will not choose to walk in your brother's path, they'll see the loving path you have chosen and they'll learn to love the sinner.. not the sin.
I am living proof of that. I've had plenty of people in my home, or in my life.. who's example is sinful.. And my children have still chosen to walk with Adonai - not walk in the ways of the world
Adonai, lift up Joy and her husband and her family. Encouraged them in this job you've assigned them. Let them see YOU - and not look away from YOU. May the love and sacrifice they are making for Joy's brother be the good fruit you have called us all to produce... may he turn to you as you call out to him. AMen

Just so you know, Shepherd's Hill Farm takes in kids from all over even some from Ireland. And like I said they could just be a resource for you if you have any specific questions. I'm sure they would pray with you and for you. They understand what you are trying to do. Blessings!
