Hey, today and yesterday I've been suddenly so sick with something that resembles symptoms of a head cold and the flu at the same time, yet it doesn't seem to effect anyone else. I RARELY if ever get sick, in fact the last time I got sick it was when I became pregnant with Spencer who is now 2 and 4 months old, and it happened at around the same time (just days after ovulation) and the symptoms were the same. I remember being sick with cold and flu like symptoms at about the same point when I became pregnant with each of my children. And then this morning I put in my fertility info in my Taking Charge of Your Fertility software and after I submit the info it says Congratulations, TCOYF predicts you might have achieved a pregnancy this cycle. I was shocked, totally not expecting that at all. I'm not sure how they might predict it except that my temps rose another step which is unusal for me (I show my charts in my VLOG #2). So now I'm all confused and the wait is nearly unbearable. I had finally come to terms and accepted having to wait till the end of the year to actively TTC and doing the TTC VLog was just a way to keep myself occupied with it until then. On my charts we did BD 4 days (in the morning) before ovulation, but my cervical fluid was not there and I was dry and we made love in the morning, the next day it was sticky and then the next day after that it was eggwhite but it appeared later on in the day and then the next day it was eggwhite again and I likely ovulated and I did record ovulatory pain which occured in the evening, so it is pretty unlikely (unless the Lord blessed DH with Super Sperm), but me being so sick is such a weird coincidence and is what makes me think it might be possible, although totally unexpected. It would be pretty ironic considering how I finally came to terms with waiting and began planning on a pre-TTC list and scheduling things out, etc. The Lord sometimes works this way with me, teaches me to accept something and then once I do blesses me with what I previously hoped for. I'm also worried that this might just be a false alarm and I'll end up disappointed now that I'm thinking I might already be pregnant. I'll have to wait nearly another week to test with an early pregnancy test. I'm expecting my menstruation to begin on the 13th (possibly the 12th); the wait is hard I feel like this is almost all I can think about and being sick too is no fun and gives me more time to think.

Anyway, thought I'd share, I ccan't wait to test and find out for sure. If I'm pregnant my EDD would be Arpil 22 and Spencer would have turned three almost exactly the month before.

Flu like symptoms at early pregnancy ( before 6 wk rising hormonal levels ) has been my experience too!
I rarely get sick either.

I so remember lying on the floor so sick and dizzy with one of my pregnancies that I wondered what in the world was 'wrong' with me... I was pregnant!

You are very likely with child!

Thank you for your comments and encouragement, I'm glad to hear that others have had the experience of getting sick as an early pregnancy symptom, people often think I'm silly to say that.

Daq, according to the software that I'm using I was out of my most likely fertile window. Sperm CAN live UP TO 5 days, although that is in the best of conditions, meaning in fertile cervical fluid. EVen then sperm usually only lives 2 or 3 days. I was completely dry when we BD'ed last and had sticky fluid (and little of it) the next day. I didn't get fertile-like cervical fluid until 2 1/2 days later, close to 3 since we BD'ed in the morning and the eggwhite fluid came in the evening. According to most FAM rules, the chances of conception would have been low. Nonetheless, sperm can occasionally live longer than expected (how can they really know how long sperm can live for?) even in an acidic environment (dry/sticky). It would have to have lived 2 1/2 to 3 days in that environment before being nourished by the eggwhite cervical fluid until conception. I did ovulate on day 18 when I normally ovulate a little later. That's just according to what's in the book Taking Charge of Your Fertility, which worked really well in the passed. ANyway, if I am pegnant, wouldn't this increase my chances of having a girl, since "girl" sperm are slower but can live longer?

I happened to have placed an order for some vitamins to help prepare for when we were to actively TTC from www.early-pregnancy-tests.com and I also ordered some ovulation test strips as well as pregnancy test strips (since there was a discount for buying them together, and I was thinking I'd need them eventually anyway). So, it's going to be soooo hard to wait for it to come (I'm expecting it near the end of this week) to to use the pregnancy tests I already bought. Walmart does sell early pregnancy tests where I could test as early as 6 days after ovulation, but I couldn't justify it since I alredy ordered the other tests. Anyway, sorry for going on. Thanks for all your supportive comments. I'm hoping to be pregnant now that the idea is in my mind that I could be and I may not have to wait till the end of the year afterall.

My first thought would be YES!

I'll wait with you....I'm about 2 days behind you...though I'm not even sure I ovulated...too many stessful factors could be hindering me...still...IF I did when I think I might have...*sigh...waiting is always hard huh?

Hmmm. I can't wait to hear. When did you say you will test? Just a little side note. The pregnancy that I'm in now...I was very dry when I got pregnant. I was nursing so I was really dry!

I understand what the TCOYF says but In my experince and my mother we both concieved outside of there "feritle" time. I have never consitered myself infetile untill 3 days after O. If you are TTC I was wondering why you were preventing later in your cycle? Just wondering. I am anxious to see here form you when you test. I still have a while to test. I am 4 DPO today so at least 3- 4 more days. I have gotten a BFP 7-8 day before

I'm expecting my period by the 13th (considering 31 day cycles, but once I had a 29 day cycle). I'll be testing when I get those early pregnancy tests in the mail, probably Friday so i'd test Saturday morning.

Yes, we're TTC. But we were in the prep stage, the reason for trying to avoid until near the end of the year is because my dh said he felt it was best to postpone a pregnancy and after prayer I felt I should follow him in this thing, that he was not saying it lightly. So, we were postponing until the end of the year. It's been hard on me as I really didn't want to wait that long to actively TTC, but eventually accepted it and began the pre-TTC checklist and began the VLOG to help me not be so depressed over the wait as I feel very strongly that there is a child the Lord wishes to send us and I really would love to have him/her. That's the gist of it, when I feel well enough to be on a VLOG I'll be addressing that in more detail. As for the charts, we normally would avoid beginning with the first sign of possibly fertile cervical fluid and then until I had 4 days of complete dry up, we also took the thermal shift into consideration and counted 3 days from O and avoided until the 4th. It worked well for us between the first two, they're purposefully 2 years 7 months apart. We conceived when we actuvely TTC'd. And it was working well until possibly up till now. But oh well, perhaps the vitex helped a bit. I'd be happy to conceive now.

I've been thinking so much about this possibility and this morning prayed and somehow feel that I'm not actually pregnant. I felt reminded that the Lord had already told me about when we'd have our next and about when to actively conceive, and right now it's important for me to make sure my body is prepared and that Daniel is also nutritionally reinforced. I will still take an early pregnancy tests to confirm. I'm usually really good with knowing and feeling that I'm with child, and somehow I just don't feel that, although I REALLY want it now. I also should trust in the Lord and the guidance I received from Him. The fertility software is really good, but perhaps it somehow made an error in this case. And me being sick, that's really the only thing that makes me feel it is possible at all. The last time I was sick was at this same point of the last pregnancy and the last time I was sick not related to pegnancy was 4 1/2 years ago and that was mastitis, not a virus. But that doesn't mean my body can never get sick once in a rare moon. I don't know, I just somehow don't feel like I"m really pregnant and am tired of thinking about it and don't want to be disappointed at a negative test result. So for now, that's what I'll be thinking, although I will test when I receive those early pregnancy tests just to make sure and ofcourse if I don't menstruate then I'm most likely pregnant. I'll update when I test and with what happens.

I REALLY appreciate all of your support!!!!!! THank you!
