I haven't updated because I must be obsessed! I'm now 11 DPO (days past ovulation) and have been testing daily starting 8 DPO. On 9 DPO, I got a negative and so I thought that I must not be preggo, I accepted that. And then I read on peeonastick.com (see I'm obsessed) that the pregnancy test I used (which says you can test 5 days before your expected period) is assuming a textbook 28 day cycle with ovulation happening on the classic day 14, meaning you can test 11 DPO. So I felt stupid, I tend to ovulate later, this cycle I ovulated on day 18 so testing when I did was totally not accurate. So I tested again and it's negative. Also on that site she tests 15 different pregnancy tests and shows the pics (using the same urine, she peed in a cup and dipped them) and the one I used she mentions as not performing as well despite their marketing claims, the positive was very faint for her, an eye squinter, when the cheaper brands performed better. Then yesterday evening I had slight cramping which I often feel the day before my period, so I was totally expecting it today. My temps always fall down to 36 or 36.1 C the day I start menstruating, so I always know when I wake up. This morning my temp was at 37 C, that is quite high for me, I never go that high, my highest has been up to 36.7 C although I tend to stick around 36.5 to 36.6 C after O'ing. So now I'm wondering if it's the beginning of a triphasic temp signaling pregnancy (as happened with the forst 2 pregnancies, I didn't chart when conceiving #3 so I don't know) or if it's just a fluke. I tested again this morning and it's negative, mind you I didn't use first morning urine as I had to run to the store to buy a test and didn't want to wet myself (I really had to go), so I ended up drinking water and trying to hold it in for 4 hours after I felt I had to go to hopefully have the same effect as early morning. Still negative. Then I remember that with Rebekah I kept getting negative until 16 DPO, and with Spencer it was several days after my period was due. I can't remember with Nephi. So I'll be testing until I either get a positive or a period, and I'm driving myself nuts with the wait. I keep thinking about the possible signs and how they could go either way. I've been looking at the cycle galleries on the TCOYF website trying to find one similar to mine that somehow might give me a clue as to if the temp rise is the beginning of a triphasic rise or not. They have well over a thousand cycles on there. It also didn't help that there was alot of visitors at Church today and they happened to be mostly young families with infants, so there was ALOT of babies all around me. I feel so silly too, but I know you all understand! My kids are on with me too. They keep asking e every morning if my temperatures have gone up (they know that if they go up and then again instead of down it could mean a baby is in Mommy's tummy). This morning they looked at my chart and were jumping for joy saying, "I hope it stays up and goes up some more!" ANyway, sorry about the details of my obsessing over my charts and hpt's. I almost wish I hadn't known of any possibility and then I wouldn't even think to test until af doesn't arrive, or if it's truly negative then I won't get disappointed. Oh well, on the up side, dh now wants me to be pregnant too and hopes it is a positive. About my cycles, the luteal phase of the cycle tends to be pretty exact and isn't influenced by stress or sickness. So, I tend to have a luteal phase of 10 to a max. of 12 days. So, I could menstruate tomorrow or Tuesday and start a new cycle. SO, I'll let you all know either way.

Thanks for the update, Joyce. I was wondering. I so totally understand that hopeful obsession. Praying you get a positive soon!

Today is 13 DPO. I made a deal with dh that if my temps didn't go down this morning signaling possible menstruation then I could buy another HPT (I was out of them and was supposed to wait for my package to arrive in the mail from early pregnancy tests dot com). It stayed up nice and high this morning so I ran to Walmart and was their first customer today at 6 amb(when they open) . I felt rather strange being the only customer in the store when it is normally VERY busy. When I got home I went straight to the bathroom and it was negative, and when I came out of the bathroom dh was waiting hoping it was positive and was disappointed with the negative too (suddenly he really wants me to be pregnant). I was really hoping to get a positive this morning if my temps stayed up. I have never had a longer luteal phase than 12 days, but now I'm wondering if it's just due to my hormones balancing out due to the vitex (which I've been taking since early March or so). Yet, I've been charting since I was engaged (to prepare for marriage, you need to know your cycle before using it avoid). Maybe my temps being so high (7 temps in a row above my normal peak temp beginning at 7 DPO, which I was hoping signaled implantation) because my thyroid is improving. Maybe I'm so tired because the city sprayed for mosquitos or something. I'm just tired of hoping to be pregnant and keep getting negatives and left wondering. I have alot of signs that could signal early preg or perhaps it's just a coincidence. Our BD timing was not at all optimal for pregnancy, although there's always a chance especially before O. I'm ready to think I'm not pregnant and deal with the disappointment now, yet I know if I get my early pregnancy tests today I'll certainly test again since they are more sensitive, you never know and I do tend to get a positive much later than most people. Or maybe this was the Lord's mysterious way to answer my prayer to help dh want another child sooner and want me to be pregnant now. He did let me know that Dh would feel the time is right. Anyway, thanks for letting me vent a little, I won't reply again unless I get a BFP or AF, as I'm sure you're all tired of hearing "my song" by now, it's like a broken record.

Thanks!

Edited to fix some bad spelling.

:( Aw, I'm sorry you didn't get the positive yet. Don't be embarrassed to post. I think all of us have been in that position at one time or another. I am still hoping you get a positive soon.

I'm glad to hear about your desire to have more children. I so often hear the opposite. Thanks for sharing!

Well, the party's over! My temp went down this morning and I'll be menstruating today for sure. It's interesting as the signs on my charts were all pointing to pregnancy, I was feeling symptoms I only get in early preg. and I've never had a luteal phase longer than 12 days (and often a day or two less; and I've been charting for years). But AF is coming, so now I can feel at peace and move forward, although I do feel very disappointed. The up side is DH was really hoping I'd be pregnant (due to this), so perhpas we won't wait to TTC actively and we'll go ahead right now. I do want to try for a girl, so we'll be timing BD a couple days before O'ing, which is tricky and does make it a little more difficult to conceive, but atleast we'll have a good head start. And hopefully I'll get my package in the mail soon!

Aww mama, I was hoping you were pg too. But the Lord has worked it to where you and your husband are lined up now in what you want and your timing :flowers: . I can't wait to hear your pregnancy announcement.
FWIW I have caused my body to have all kinds of pregnancy symptoms and late periods when I really wanted a baby but was not actually pregnant. It's amazing the influence our minds have over that. The upside is that happened to me three times and each time I got pregnant for real the next month :_biggrin: .

Bummer! But I agree-- it seems the Lord was getting your dh more excited about it! That's great!

are you taking vitex? was this why your luteal phase was longer?

Thanks for all your support! Hopefully I'll have a pg announcement soon.

Sombra, yes, I was using vitex. I've been using it since late April or early March. It helped to even out my hormones so I could start menstruating again( I had gotten my menstrual cycle yet and Spencer was almost 2, so I knew my hormones were not quite balanced). It didn't seem to affect what my cycles are normally like, except my temps are not off the charts anymore and I no longer experienced heavy, painful flow. But the length of cycle and luteal phase remained normal, as well as when I tend to ovulate. But you never know, perhaps some of the effects are delayed?

Thanks again!
