Do these really work? has anyone used tham and had them work?
I have used them and never yet at any time had a line that was as dark as the control line. I have lines that are obvious. Some that are very faint and then some that are light pink. And of course days where there is no lines at all.
Has anyone gotten pg when the tests said they weren't ovulating?

They do work. I used them this last pp period. But most were stark white. then right before O I would get maybe 2 days of darkening lines. It IS possible to miss the surge ( normaly lasts 24 hrs) but you should still see some close to positive lines around that time. How often are you testing? those actively TTC take 2-3 a day and for someone without a predictable cayel length that could be ALOT of tests. Also you could get a surge and Not ovulate :(
are you cycling yet? Or just trying to catch the O when It happens?

I am not cycling yet and I know it's probably pretty dumb to even be trying to catch ovulation but I guess I was hoping and trying to see if perhaps I was going to ovulate before my cycle starts and try to catch it and then do the BD. I am not sure how else to tell when I am ovulating without a cycle. Does taking temps even tell you much without a cycle? I am also trying to find ways to kick ovulation inlike going further without nursing during the night, etc.. Don't know if any of these will work as I am nursing two fulltime but I decided to wean my 3yr. old at night. Last night she didn't nurse at all but my 11 1/2 month old nurses at night still.
This is so new to me and not the typical nursing one baby thing.. I wonder how you can conceive while nursing twins as thats what my nursing pattern most closely ressembles??

OK I see. Yes if you take your temp you will see when you o but temps don't go up till AFTER O so that would not help much if you are tring to catch the eggie. I just weaned Jocelyn last month and now I am expecting lol. I guess I need to nurse 2 to get a break also.

I used the mommy microscope when TTC my first. You use saliva first thing in the morning, and look at it with a microscope-like thing (small, like lipstick), and check for changing patterns. Tried this for a few months, then tried the ovulation strips, too. Turned out the microscope thing was about a day off. But now that I know that, I think it would work. Anyway, I got pg the first month of using the strips (my cycle is irregular, so it was a bit tricky). With baby #2, I got pg before getting AF (at 8 months PP, nursing part time/solids part time). But with this baby, I've already gotten AF back, at 4 months PP, nursing full time. So who knows?
All that to say, you could try the mommy microscope. :) You only buy it once, so it's cheaper than the strips. But it may not be exactly on, though it's supposed to be.

Are you hoping to conceive soon or just hoping to conceive before you get AF? I had many patched of fertile signs even when not realy oing yt, I get a high soft open cervix and EW mucus but then My body still dose not ovulate. I have a hunch though that when you cut nursing down with your older nurser you will probably start oing again. I ovulated 2 times before concieving but my LP was too stort ( 5-6).

I am hoping to conceive soon. :) The baby bug has bit me! LOL! :)
It's a tough thing for me although. My 3yr. old is a BIG nurser and of course my 11 1/2 month old is just starting to eat a little bit of solids. So weaning my 3 yr. old is the first step towards attempting to bring my fertility back. I don't want to cut my bf relationship with either of them short but I do want a baby. So trying to find ways to do that without stopping the nursing all together as I don't feel right in doing that.
With my previous babies I always had a cycle at 3mo. pp everytime. Then this time for the first time I am nursing two round the clock and at night and still no cycle or sign of it. So nursing two is the trick for me. With my previous cycles I would cycle but not ovulate until I weaned the baby through the night. Then within a few months of doing that I would become pg. So although I don't know for sure I am guessing that may be the trick this time too. Kind of a whole new experience for me.
But in all of this I am still feeling content for the most part. I have had a few times of sadness etc but I am trusting Yeshua and praying for that next baby. We're praying for twins again as a family.
