This is my first time experiencing this as I usually have cycles by 2-3 months pp.
Anyway this time I had my first pp cycle Jan 11th when my baby was 14 1/2 months old. Then yesterday I started my 2nd pp cycle. The two cycles were 39 days apart. With my previous pp times although I was having cycles by 2-3 months pp they were longer at first and then got closer together as I began to return to being fertile.
Is this what happens when you experience lactation amenorrhea from breastfeeding also? Can I expect my cycles to get shorter and more "normal" as my body begins to ovulate and regulate again?
I also just weaned my two nurslings off the night nursings. 5-7 hours without nursing now. I am still nursing two during the day and evening up to 11pm-12am and then again somewhere between 6:30am-8am; depending when the babies wake up. Weaning at night has also in the past brought my fertility back and I was able to conceive again.. :)
Thank Ladies for your input. :)

That has been my experience in the past.. your milage may vary..depending on hormones, frequency of baby/toddler nursing, etc.

I usually go anywhere from 12-18 months without a cycle. Mine, when they come back, take several months to level out. Last time they went from 46 days, to 39 days down to 31 days and pretty much stayed at 31 days apart.

For me the norm seems to be that it takes ovulation a few months longer to return. So I'll usually have 3 or 4 cycles before I see any signs of ovulation.

Until I took Vitex recently, my cycles were anywhere from 21-52 days in length with no rhyme or reason. That probably doesn't help you any. Since I was so irregular, there was no counting on anything. I hope you get your answer soon though.
