Mods: I'm not sure if this is the appropriate spot for this. If not, please move it to its proper position.

Ok, background info first. Up until about 3 months ago, I haven't had AF visit since before Eph. was born which is nearly 4 years ago now. That visit about 3 months ago was very, very light with only about 3 of light spotting of brown. Before Eph. AF would come about every 3-4 months and would be heavy flow 1st day, about 5days of regular, then about 2-3 days of spotting.

About 1 1/2 weeks ago, I had a really weird visit from AF(?). On Sunday at around noonish, I was sitting in my dining room, and suddenly heard a pop that was immediately followed by a gush of fluid. I ran to the bathroom and upon inspection discovered that I had a fairly good sized amount of watery, bright red blood all over. (Ok, it probably was maybe about an oz. of fluid, but to me it looked like an aweful lot and would have been enough to soak a regular pad.) Oh, and I emphasize the watery part because I'm AB+ and my blood is normally very thick and dark, even from a fresh cut. So, anyways, I continued bleeding for about 1 1/2 weeks, but it was really weird. If I did anything strenuous, I would soak a pad quite quickly, however when I backed off and did non-strenuous tasks, it would lesson to the point of only a slight pink discharge and only when I wiped. Oh, and I almost forgot, for about two days before this happened to about two into it, I was experiencing a lot of uncharacteristic lower back cramping.

I guess I'm wondering what in the world was going on with me as I've never had anything like that happen before, and is what I think happened, what happened? i.e. Did I have an early miscarriage or something, cause that whole thing was just so, for lack of a better term, weird?

Unfortunately, the pop and the gush.. sounds like a miscarriage to me.

Did you have any clots?

It could be a burst hematoma (misspelled but it's the medical word for bruise) on your cervix or uterus

Yeah, I did forget to mention that with the initial pop and fluid there were several really small clots, about five or six, the largest being about the size of a pencil eraser.

Ya.. that sounds like what I had.. but my clots were about the size of a finger.. and mine were 7-8 weeks.

Sorry friend. Don't be shy to feel what you need to feel. If you're ok with just carrying on.. then do that.. but if you need to grieve.. then don't begrudge yourself.

I was talking with a friend the other day about our miscarriages.. and then sharing that conversation with Stuart in bed.. and suddenly the tears just were flowing.. I miss my little babies.. I have 7 waiting for me in Heaven.

Big hugs to you, I hope things are getting back to 'normal' in the bleeding department.
