Hi everyone!

I haven't been on in a while, although I check in every now and then. Life has been very hectic, and we're in the middle of some big stuff, so as you all understand, some internet stuff has to fall by the wayside. I wanted to give you an update on us and share some exciting news, though: we're adopting from Africa! We are absolutely excited that God has called us to this. Our baby girl (we asked for 0-9 months, but Rwanda tends to give you older than you asked for; I'm really hoping for a little baby though) will be hopefully ours by late summer/early fall. DH and I will travel to Rwanda to pick her up from the orphanage. At this point, she may not even be born yet (we don't know who she will be, and won't know until right before we travel). I find myself thinking of and praying for her birth mother a lot, and wondering if my daughter is being born right now.

Adoption is a crazy, wonderful journey and I am learning a lot about the heart of the Father for justice, mercy, the poor, the orphans. And also about how He adopted all of us into His family! I can't even explain how wonderful this is and how happy we are.

If you would pray for us: financially, adoption is really, really expensive. We're fund raising as best we can, and trusting that God won't call us to this and then not provide. We've had some major financial setbacks lately, and are praying to find renters to live in our other house (right now, we're paying two mortgages, and one house is standing empty - we can't sell right now). And also, pray for the paperwork in Rwanda to be processed quickly. It's supposed to take until August or September, but I really hope it goes faster than that. I want my baby home! Pray that the process would speed up for all of us adoptive parents who are waiting for our babies. Thank you for your prayers.

And for my question: I am two and a half weeks late for AF. I took a pregnancy test and it was neg. I have had absolutely NO pg symptoms, so I don't think I am. (Normally I'd be throwing up and exhausted by now.) What else could be making me this late? Any ideas?

You all are a blessing. Thanks for letting me pop in and out.

Allison

Wow, what a journey! Wish you the best Mama... come back and update as the adoption progresses.

I bet you are late due to stress but that's just my guess.

I hope that things go well and the adoption process is carried out swiftly. Will be keeping you in my prayers! Congratulations!

I have a friend who was sitting on a plane for about 10 hours on 9/11 she skipped her cycles for 2 months.. She did question, but there was no possibility she was pregnant.. she just didn't cycle for those two months because of the stress of being on a plane on that day.. safe.. but still..confined with no information, and all the planes parked beside her..

stress does all kinds of things

but blessings on your house for this wonderful walk you're being called to. May Adonai see to every detail, trust in Him..

Is there anything I can do to get myself back on track? I mean, obviously try to lower stress. But anything else?

Raspberry leaf tea, or vitex can help.

Thanks everyone. I started up again - guess I just skipped one. Man, this last one was yucky though! Glad to be done.

Stress levels are going down too - I'm really working on it.

:)
