Hi All!

My husband is battleing a toothach, we are thinking a dentist would say root canal off the bat, but dont want to go that route. Anyone have any reccomendations to an alternative? Anything we could topically put on to deaden the root, without the dentist? Thanks!

I've heard clove oil, or even biting down on a clove for the pain. I just had my root canal taken out (it caused allergies and who knows what else) so I wouldn't recommend them either.

xylitol can heal.. but it won't take away short term pain, use teething tablet/jel. and clove oil.. but try having him rinse mouth with a 1/2 packet of xylitol in some water after every meal .. and chew xylitol gum - (Health food store) and it can repair the teeth.

Thanks guys! My husbands teeth are soo terrible! Unfortunatly he ended up getting the tooth pulled :(

We are now looking into more pre-cautionary things for him to prevent, since like i said, his mouth is in bad shape already!

Dr. Bruce Fife recommends this oil pulling therapy for active gum disease, tooth decay or other serious health issue:

Medicated Coconut Oil for Oil Pulling

1 teaspoon coconut oil
1 -2 drops of oregano or clove oil
1 30 - 50 mg CoQ10 gel cap

(this is the basic ratio recipe, but most people oil pull with 2 or 3 teaspoons of oil, so double or triple the recipe to meet your mouth size)

Directions:

Combine the coconut oil with the oregano or clove oil

Bite the CoQ10 gel cap and suck out the oil, then add the coconut oil mixture to your mouth

Swish, suck through your teeth and otherwise keep the oil moving in your mouth for 20 minutes, then spit out into a trash can.

Do this 3 times per day, before eating while symptoms persist.
