Just wanted to start a thread to show variations in weight gain... and how healthy eating ( even with little exercise -so far) can give a healthy pregnancy for BABY and MOM.
Mike surprised me with my requested bathroom scale!. So I finally weighed in and was surprised that I show NO pregnancy weight gain at the beginning of the 4th month.
I know this month is a big growth month for the baby so it will be interesting to see how it goes!
Was thinking if I just gain one pound a week from here I'll only have like a twenty pound gain.
I am not dieting at all but eating healthy and staying nutritionally satisfied with proteins so no health concern for baby or me but just surprised that there hasn't even been a five pound gain... I noticed that I wasn't gaining new fat... so I must have been loosing some. I can still fit size 16 waist!?! though of course belly is rounding.
With the better weather I am thinking I won't be packing on a lot of weight yet because I am getting a lot more exercise.
It will come though when I start to carry more 'baby' and have to slow down -well and the heat of the summer etc...
Again, I started out heavy at 165 ( where I should be at 130) so baby has all my fat reserves at his / her disposal.
BTW I am feeling really good most days! And my face and skin look healthy. Little bloat what so ever.

Wish I could say the same... gained 7lbs out of no where between week 7 and 11. But God knows best. I got the nasty stomach virsus and lost 6 lbs last week. So currently up 3 lbs at 12 weeks 2 days.
My stomach has been a mess. Lots of bloating and gas and uncomfortable thru it all. It is as if my entire gut has been set into super slow motion since this pregnancy began. The first signs that something was up was my tummy troubles- like being up for 3 hours in the middle of the night feeling the need to burp but unable to. Chamomile and Lavendar tea have been a big help.
It is difficult to face the weight gain-- between Jan 09 and Jan 10 I had lost 55lbs. I just keep reminding myself that starting out less over weight is healthier for me and the weeone.
PS- up since 4 am with upset stomach

Hey I had to do some real changes for the sake of my gut right before conception and into the earliest months.
I would be happy to come back and share some of the book titles that helped me understand the digestive tract better.
I had GERD, IBS, and other scary stuff going on all last year. SO I have learned some stuff!

I am interested in the book titles. I have had a really rough digestive system since conceiving. I appreciate the info :)

I have had bad gas and pains from the gas this pregnancy that i don't remember at all with my son, who's now almost 3. I'm definitly not enjoying that part. my midwife suggested acidophilus (can't spell that) but haven't got to a health food store to pick some up yet. Hoping that'll help. Along with eating more salad which helps me stay regular, and should help some too.
