Below are two pictures, arrows pointing to what I see often. Can you see the bump? It's a bad picture... but I tried. It isn't always there but it is there a LOT. This bump is on my upper left side of the belly, when I can clearly feel baby and it's back and bum on the lower right side, bum coming just up even to my belly button. When I rub on this bump, sometimes I start feeling movement down lower on the LEFT side. Baby I can feel on right side is way over to the side, heart is heard almost right next to my hip bone it's so far over.

weird, huh? Either I have an extra babe in there or baby has REALLY long legs LOL (I'm only measuring 24cm @28 wks, but I imagine I'll pop any day with all the stretching pains I am having)

I guess time will tell... If you are measuring 24 at 28 weeks... how is your amniotic fluid? Do you feel like baby has adequate fluid to move around and grow in?

I see the bump you're talking about.. it's a lighter part in the shadow. and you're saying it moves in response to your touch. .. sounds like feet to me

i'm thinking it's probably feet stretched out... one long baby. Then again my last was 22.5".

How do i tell if there's enough amniotic fluid? It's moving around, but not very active. It's laying ROP mostly. this morning it was LOP. I haven't measured my belly in a few days, but this morning it feels higher. My ribs hurt so bad from the burning/stretching going on :( Any remedies to help that not hurt so bad?

If baby is in a position that is feeling uncomfortable for you, I would try pelvic tilts and "spirals"/belly dancing like movements...like a figure 8 to encourage baby to move into a more comfortable position.

A non tech way to help gauge fluid level is something called fluid thrill. Relax in a semi-sitting or almost flat position. Put your hand on one side of your abdomen, flat against it. With your other hand, very gently flick your finger against your tummy. You should be able to feel the ripple of the water against the hand that is flat on your tummy. Do this all around, feeling for pockets of water, until you have a general sense of how much water is around the baby. General suggestions for increasing fluid for baby is making sure to drink adequate fluid...water, juices, juicey fruits and veggies, etc. A baby that doesn't have enough fluid will also feel "shrink wrapped" sometimes because they don't have a lot of fluid to move around, etc.

thanks. I've tried the ripple thing before and it seems adequate. And def. no shrink wrapping going on around this babe other than the bump occasionally on the upper left.

I don't think it's babe's position causing the pain, as much as just my muscles and ligaments stretching and pulling to help spread the ribs too. It burns. Ice pack?

update ... since I last posted 8 days ago my fundal height has gone from 24 to just shy of 26cm. Just needed a growth spurt LOL Still kind'a small but baby is hiding out way in the back of the womb and still likes to lay off to the far right side when it's not hiding, which I know affects the fundal height measurement. I'm 29 weeks.
