I brought Hannah and Sam to be exposed to rubella a couple weeks ago- they didn't get it. I'm not pg, nor expecting to be any time soon, so I thought it would be a great chance. Too bad. I'm curious if they were able to get immunity just by being exposed, they should have gotten the germs... or do they have to full-on come down with it?

I don't know a lot about this subject, and I have no experience with rubella, only with chicken pox. I had a friend whose children were all exposed to chicken pox at the same time. One child had only a very mild case of chicken pox while the others ended up with the full blown variety. The child who had the mild case ended up getting chicken pox again later.
It would be tempting to get a titer test for the kids to see if they are making antibodies, wouldn't it? :D
