Loss after an Unassisted Birth

Much like with mothers who miscarry, Satan can have a hey day in that great battlefield of the mind of a mother when her child returns to heaven soon after being birthed unassisted.

"Was something wrong with the baby?", "Is something wrong with my body?", "Did I do something to harm the baby?", "Is this in punishment for a sin?", "Did I not have enough faith?", "What if I'll never be able to have a baby (again)?", "Why did God, my Abba, the Author of Life... how could he let this happen?".

The questions are many, the answers are few. In spite of this, there are many things we do know.

We know he is our creator, designing us for fellowship with him. We know he desires to give his children good gifts and not pain. When we ask him for life, he will not leave us with death! We know that Satan will bruise our heel, but we will crush his head. He is under our feet, a defeated foe! We know God holds the keys to death and Hades. We know our God loves us, and that his perfect love casts out fear. And we know that we can rest in the peace he has given us through the Holy Spirit. His peace.

It is my sincere prayer that you will find hope and inspiration through the stories of the following women who have walked this path before you and found this "peace that passes all understanding".

An especially big thank-you goes to the ladies who have shared their pain here to help others along the way.

God Bless you all.
