Unassisted Pregnancy
Unassisted Pregnancy is the term used to describe a pregnancy in which the pregnant woman forgo the supervision of medical professionals in order to take responsibility for her own care, in anticipation of an unassisted birth.
Women do this in a myriad of ways. Some women will simulate the doctor's office in their home renting dopplers to check for fetal heart rate, measuring fundus height, ph strips to check urine with and more. Others eat a very good diet, listen to their body, and otherwise reject testing of any sort as a valid means to accessing their health and wellness. Most women fall in between these two explanations possibly measuring their fundus for fun or for the baby book records, checking their blood pressure at the local supermarket or pharmacy, only doing what they feel will be of benefit to them or their growing baby.
